Avoid making these mistakes when getting started with Google Local Service Ads:

1. Mistaking Google Local Service ads with Google Ads. These are two different platforms. While Google insists that local ads are not a replacement for traditional search ads, they can play a larger strategy when it comes to targeting local clients and customers. However, you mustn’t approach Google Local Service ads the same way you would approach Ads.

2. Ignoring Mobile Reach. There will be two Google Local Service ads on mobile. You want to make sure that your landing websites are optimized for mobile users, which includes a responsive website, optimized titles and meta descriptions, and standardized names, business addresses, and contact information.

3. Not taking the initiative to be properly certified and obtain your Google Guarantee badge. These are factors that will separate you from your competitors. It’s also a factor that potential customers will use when deciding if they want to interact with your services and online properties.

Google Local Service ads are worth it if you’re a local business that falls under the categories defined by Google. While the service is only available to a limited selection of service providers and vendors, Google is actively expanding its categories.
